Text: Romans 9:15-16

“For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.”

There are certain blessings that your prayers and fastings will never qualify you for; certain moves of God that cannot be activated by your giving or service to God but only on the platform of God’s mercy. Have you ever thought of what Abraham did, for instance, before God decided to do those things He promised him (Gen 12:2-3)?

When a man encounters God’s mercy, his inadequacies or past mistakes no longer counts. Matthew 12:7 says “But if ye had known what this meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless.” When mercy speaks over you, irrespective of all you’ve done, God sees you as guiltless.

The good news is at the throne of grace, God’s mercy can be obtained. Heb 4:16 says “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” And also from Heb 12:24, the blood of sprinkling can speak mercy over your life.

When mercy speaks, all protocols seize.

By the blood of Jesus, may you walk in God’s mercy henceforth in Jesus’ name!
