OUR DAILY REFLECTION

WITHIN YOUR REACH
Text: 2 Kings 4:1-2

“Now there cried a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets unto Elisha, saying, Thy servant my husband is dead; and thou knowest that thy servant did fear the Lord: and the creditor is come to take unto him my two sons to be bondmen. And Elisha said unto her, What shall I do for thee? tell me, what hast thou in the house? And she said, Thine handmaid hath not any thing in the house, save a pot of oil.”

Do you know most time, God does not supply or introduce something new to settle situations but uses what is already available. From today’s passage, it is glaring that the wife of that deceased son of the prophet possibly would have missed out in God’s means of settling her if she’d concluded that she had nothing at home.

More so, when the red sea was to be parted, God didn’t supply any new equipment but simply the rod in the hands of Moses (Exo 14:15,16). The feeding of the 5,000 men aside the women and children in Jesus’ crusade was not with imported meal but an available five loaves of bread and two fishes (John 6:5-13)

The truth is, most time, the answer to our prayers is within our reach but we never know. Hagar and her son were dying until God opened her eyes to see the well of water around (Gen 21:19). Thank God the widow of Zarephath was sensitive and wise enough to serve the prophet first, she probably would have died of hunger.

REFLECTION FOR TODAY:
Your long awaited answer may just be beside you waiting to be discovered.

PRAY:
Father, please open my eyes to see whatever solution You have position around me in Jesus’ name.
