OUR DAILY REFLECTION

SPIRITUAL CHECKUP 2
Text: 2 Corinthians 13:5

“Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?”

An important reason why a spiritual checkup is important based on today’s reason is to ascertain that one is still on the track and in the faith. Lukewarmness is dangerous, even God warns against it (Rev 3:15-16). Paying the price to maintain spiritual stability is worth it.

What is your word study like? Are you still on with the same passion you used to have for it? Talking about your knowledge of God, are you growing or just at the same spot? We cannot leave our spiritual life to chances, else the devil will sweep us off.

Whatever the Holy Spirit is pointing your attention to is not to be taken with levity hand, after all, every fall begins with a crack and a loop hole, if not mended on time, graduates to a big one. This is why you must watch at all time and adjust in areas that need urgent attention. Remember, Jesus is coming soon.

REFLECTION FOR TODAY:
Paying the price to maintain spiritual stability is worth it.

In this last days, grace will uphold you to the end and you will not fall back in Jesus’ name.

SPIRITUAL CHECKUP
Text: 2 Corinthians 13:5

“Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?”

A major importance for having a medical checkup is to help identify a problem at its early stage before it gets out of control. From today’s Scripture, the apostle admonishes everyone to check/examine him or herself to be sure if we are still in the faith or not.

You see, just as a building does not collapse in a day, a man does not backslide in a day, it is a process, and when the signs are overlooked, they result in the eventual backslidden state. The Ephesian church was known for their works, labour and patience, for example, but unfortunately, they had left their first love which was why Jesus had to call them to order (Rev 2:1-5).

Are you not just busy for God while your relationship with Him is suffering? What’s your spiritual status like? To maintain a healthy spiritual life is to always check up yourself to see if there is any defect in you or areas you need to adjust on. Those little things you think do not count may be what will count against you, take note.

REFLECTION FOR TODAY:
To maintain a healthy spiritual life is to always check up yourself to see areas that need urgent attention.

May the Holy Spirit reveal your spiritual state to you so you know where to work on in Jesus’ name.

UNDERSTANDING THE TIMES 2
Text: Matthew 16:2-3

“He answered and said unto them, When it is evening, ye say, It will be fair weather: for the sky is red. And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowring. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times?”

A major sign that characterizes the times we are in, as foretold by Jesus, is deception in all its form. According to Matt 24:4-5,11,24 Jesus said many will come claiming to be the Christ, and fake prophets and miracles will also happen with the sole aim of deceiving many.

More so, 1Tim 4:1 says many will depart from the faith. Dear, watch out for this always: once you see that those evil things that do not matter to you before begin to call for your attention or those spiritual, heavenly things you take pleasure in no longer interest you, you have to cry out to God so the spirit of the last days does not overtake you.

The spirit of the last days is at work already and believers who are not vigilant enough will fall victim. This is why Jesus warns everyone to be watchful (Matt 25:13); we are to depart from anything that may disqualify us as heavenly citizens (2Cor 6:17) and make sure our robe is washed and kept clean always (2Cor 7:1).

REFLECTION FOR TODAY:
The spirit of the last days is at work already, you must be vigilant so you don’t fall victim.

May God’s Spirit who is able to keep you from falling rest upon you afresh from now on in Jesus’ name
