Text: Matthew 16:2-3

“He answered and said unto them, When it is evening, ye say, It will be fair weather: for the sky is red. And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowring. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times?”

Signs are clues that give us an idea of what is happening around us or about to happen. God uses them to speak to us sometime. For example, according to Matt 2:1-2, the star in the sky was a sign that gave the wise men a clue that Jesus, the king of the Jews, had been born.

While discussing with his disciples, they asked Jesus “saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?” Matt 24:3. It is not enough to just conclude that we are in the last days, aligning the signs given in the Scripture with what’s happening around now will help us know the times we are in.

Paul said in 1Tim 4:1 that “Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils.” With all manner of doctrines flying around now, we must take heed not to be deceived and led astray in the name of interpreting Scriptures.

Toying with your salvation experience is giving the devil a chance to snatch it.

No matter what happens around, God, by His Spirit will keep you from falling in Jesus’ name!

Text: Romans 9:15-16

“For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.”

There are certain blessings that your prayers and fastings will never qualify you for; certain moves of God that cannot be activated by your giving or service to God but only on the platform of God’s mercy. Have you ever thought of what Abraham did, for instance, before God decided to do those things He promised him (Gen 12:2-3)?

When a man encounters God’s mercy, his inadequacies or past mistakes no longer counts. Matthew 12:7 says “But if ye had known what this meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless.” When mercy speaks over you, irrespective of all you’ve done, God sees you as guiltless.

The good news is at the throne of grace, God’s mercy can be obtained. Heb 4:16 says “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” And also from Heb 12:24, the blood of sprinkling can speak mercy over your life.

When mercy speaks, all protocols seize.

By the blood of Jesus, may you walk in God’s mercy henceforth in Jesus’ name!

Text: Revelation 14:4-5

“These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb. And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God.”

Are you still a virgin or you have lost your virginity? In the parable as told in Matt 25:1-10, one thing is evident: it takes only virgins to meet the Bridegroom. Although we may all claim to be waiting for the Bridegroom but the truth is he is not coming for everybody.

Today’s passage defines to us who a virgin is and one of which is that they are undefiled. This means they are free from stain, blemish, evil or corruption. Jesus lived in this world and boldly declared in John 14:30 that “the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.” To be defiled is to have the devil’s property in you.

The passage also says they follow the Lamb anywhere he goes; they have been redeemed from among men; they are not liars and are blameless before the throne of God. You see, being a christian doesn’t qualify anyone to meet the bridegroom but holding on to one’s spiritual virginity.

Are you still a virgin or you have been deflowered by the world’s system?

Whatever is trying to lure you out of the path of righteousness is crushed by the cross of Christ now in Jesus’ name!
