Prayer is not just a medium for expressing ourselves before God, it is also a means to unveiling and understanding the mind of God concerning specific issues. This is why Jesus, while teaching his disciples on prayer, told them to pray “Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven,” Matt 6:10.

Effective prayers are those that are made based on the knowledge of the will of God. God needs men who would carry out His will; men whose desire will be to get the glimpse of the way things are done in heaven and repeat same here on earth just as Moses got the glimpse of the throne room of God and replicated it on earth. Those who pray according to God’s will are rarely selfish in their prayer life.

Reflect: When we seek God’s kingdom, we can’t pray amiss.
