Lying And Crucial Reasons To Stop Lying

Lying: An act of telling a lie, or falsehood. It is a act of one who lies, or a act of a person who keeps low to the ground.

Nowadays lying is a widespread problem of many people. This behavior problem can seriously affect your life. It is easy to lose trust of your friends, dearest and nearest people. Lying can cause very serious mental and life problems. You may come to a standstill and spend years to handle the situation. I think it is much easier to prevent and reduce lying than disentangle the consequences of this behavior. Do not let lying affect your happiness and choices. I will prove that lying is a slow killer of your personality. Moreover, the Bible makes us to understand that GOD hates liars. As a believers we now that lying is a sin, yet so many people are under the bondage of the spirit of lies. The Bible recorded that GOD hates liars. This is to let you know that no matter what form it may take or regardless of the adjective a liar gives to his or her act of lying (white lies, black lies, small lies, etc), all lies are sin ad GOD hates those who indulge in it.

Looking at what the Bible says about liars:

These six things the Lord hates, Yes, seven are an abomination to Him: A proud look, A lying tongue, Hands that shed innocent blood, A heart that devises wicked plans, Feet that are swift in running to evil, A false witness who speaks lies, And one who sows discord among brethren.- Proverbs 6:16‭-‬19 NKJV

Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord , But those who deal truthfully are His delight.
– Proverbs 12:22 NKJV

But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”
Revelation 21:8 NKJV

OUR DAILY REFLECTION

RELEASE YOUR MENTAL CAPACITY
Text: 3 John 1:2

“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.”

One of God’s best gifts to man is the mind. 2 Tim 1:7 says “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” Embedded in the mind is the capacity to think creatively. Part of your redemptive package is a sound mind!

God is our Creator and because He made us like Himself, we have the capacity to make things happen also. To some people, their inability to use their mind creatively is the reason for their stagnancy in life. One of God’s ways of answering prayers is that He deposits ideas in us but if we don’t engage the mind, we may not profit from those ideas.

Enough of negative thoughts, positive thinking births positive happenings. There is no single way of doing anything; creatively, you can chart a better method. What you don’t have is not your problem but your inability to engage your mental capacity to produce what you desire.

REFLECTION FOR TODAY:
How often do you engage your mind?

PRAY:
Father, help me to utilise my mind productively from now in Jesus’ name.

OUR DAILY REFLECTION

THE DISGUISED VISITOR
Text: Hebrews 13:1-2

“Let brotherly love continue. Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.”

Being sensitive is paramount in our walk with God. Sometime, I imagine how Abraham managed to know he needed to entertain the three visitors he saw while sitting at his tent’s door. But the answer is not farfetched – he was sensitive and able to tap into their blessing for his family’s good.

There was a time God spoke to my family that a man of the spirit would visit our home and when he comes, He told us what to entertain him with and while going, what we must give him. It took the Holy Spirit to help us identify him when he actually came because it was someone we never expected to be.

God can show up using any form to visit, pass a message across or deliver a blessing to you but how sensitive are you to identify Him when He does? His appearance may not be what you want to identify with, yet that’s who has the answer to your prayers. This is why you must be careful in your dealings with people.

REFLECTION FOR TODAY:
God often gives an unannounced visit but it takes being sensitive to know when He shows up.

PRAY:
Father, please help me to know when my angel of goodness comes and how to tap into his blessing for me in Jesus’ name.
